At Maumee River Roofing, we’re excited to share a remarkable collaboration with Shawnee Construction, echoing our commitment to fortify the community we call home. Together, we’ve embarked on a mission to support the Northeast Indiana YWCA by donating a crucial roof section to their upcoming home. In the spirit of unity and shared responsibility, Maumee River Roofing and Shawnee Construction join forces and donate their time and resources for our local YWCA. This collaboration transcends construction—it’s a testament to the power of businesses coming together to create positive change.
Our Community Commitment
At Maumee River Roofing, community lies at the heart of our mission. We don’t just build roofs; we build bridges of support. This commitment led us to collaborate with Shawnee Construction to address a crucial need for the YWCA. We identified a section of their roof that required urgent attention, and our joint effort is ensuring the YWCA can continue its vital work without additional financial strain.
Partnering With Shawnee Construction
Working alongside Shawnee Construction, we’re proud to showcase the power of local businesses uniting for a greater cause. Shawnee Construction President, Matt Schenkel, recognized the importance of community welfare and generously donated a portion of the roof. When Shawnee Construction reached out to us at Maumee River Roofing to help with the repair which would have cost YWCA an additional $10,000, we knew we had to help. With the help of ABC Supply Co. and their generous donation of materials, we were able to offer the remaining materials and labor needed to complete the project for no additional cost to YWCA.
Building Hope For YWCA
The YWCA is a crucial support hub for individuals seeking refuge from domestic violence and women on the path to addiction recovery. Upon completion of renovations, this centralized space will have the capacity to house up to 100 women, providing a comprehensive and supportive environment for those in need. So for us, this collaboration isn’t just about construction; it’s about making an IMPACT where it’s needed most within our community. The YWCA’s new home, located in the former Don Hall’s Guesthouse, symbolizes not only a structural enhancement but a beacon of hope for Northeast Indiana.
Our community spirit caught the attention of 21Alive News as they were on the scene, capturing the behind the scenes of our joint effort. They even reached out to our Chief of Staff, Megan Ranney, who shared her insights, saying, “At Maumee River Roofing, we are about making an IMPACT and we want to partner with other organizations who are making an IMPACT in our community as well,” Ranney said. “Without the community of northeast Indiana, we truly would not be able to do what we do or serve our community.” The Journal Gazette was also on the scene to capture this community-driven initiative, highlighting the collaborative efforts and the significant contribution of local businesses to the YWCA’s mission.
